Shubhangi
Graduate Teaching Assistant
PhD Candidate

I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. within the Women and Gender Studies Department at the University of Kentucky, where my research delves into the intricate dynamics of contemporary Queer movements in the Indian subcontinent. My work is centered on exploring the complex interconnections between caste and sexuality, with a particular emphasis on their convergence within the realm of South Asian queer activism. Having grown up in Patna, Bihar, India, I've been deeply immersed in the intricate caste-based politics of my region and its profound impact on everyday life. This personal background has steered my academic exploration towards a more nuanced analysis of the intersection between caste and sexuality, with a particular focus on Bihar.
