Mackenzie Koontz

Mackenzie Koontz is a second-year PhD student in English with a concentration in Victorian Literature. She specifically enjoys studying women's literature and issues of the time within the works of George Eliot, Charles Dickens, and Charlotte Bronte. 

She is passionate about teaching both WRD and Literature courses and utilizes individualized, reflective pedagogical methods in her classes to encourage students to transfer learned skills into their future courses and careers. 

She currently works as a Teaching Assistant for ENG 290 Introduction to Women's Literature and ENG 335 Literature and the Law. She taught four sections WRD-110 and WRD-111 during the 2025-26 academic year.

Mackenzie also has experience with Writing Center work, graduate student mentorship, and professional/technical writing.
